GTCC launching new programs in AI, digital media technology

Guilford Technical Community College is launching new academic programs in Artificial Intelligence and Digital Media Technology this fall. College President Anthony Clarke announced the initiative, stating these programs are designed to equip students with cutting-edge skills, improve their economic mobility, and directly address critical workforce needs in the region.

The AI program will focus on practical applications, including machine learning, data analysis, and automation processes relevant to modern manufacturing and tech sectors. Concurrently, the Digital Media Technology curriculum will cover digital design, multimedia content creation, and video production, preparing students for careers in the expanding creative economy.

This strategic expansion reflects GTCC's commitment to aligning its course offerings with the evolving demands of local industries. By providing accessible training in high-growth fields, the college aims to create a pipeline of qualified talent, fostering both individual career advancement and broader regional economic development. Enrollment for the new programs is now open for the upcoming semester.
