The Arab Organization for Industrialization has signed a manufacturing agreement with China's CETC International to produce communications equipment. The deal is part of broader efforts to localize advanced technology and strengthen domestic manufacturing within Egypt's electronics sector.
Ahmed Abdel Aziz, Chairperson of AOI's Electronics Factory, one of the organization's manufacturing subsidiaries, signed the agreement. The partnership focuses on transferring production know-how and setting up local assembly lines for high-tech communications gear. This move aligns with Egypt's push to reduce reliance on imported technology and build a self-sufficient industrial base.
Both sides see the collaboration as a step toward deeper technological cooperation. By manufacturing the equipment locally, AOI aims to support national security and infrastructure projects while creating skilled jobs in the electronics field. The agreement also opens the door for future joint ventures in other advanced technology areas. CETC International brings decades of experience in electronic information systems, making the partnership a strategic fit for Egypt's industrial goals.
