WiMi Hologram Cloud Inc. (NASDAQ:WIMI) has announced a new breakthrough aimed at strengthening the connection between quantum computing and augmented reality. On May 11, 2026, the company revealed its development of Repeated Amplitude Encoding, or RAE, technology designed specifically for quantum neural networks.
The RAE method works by repeatedly encoding classical data across multiple qubit blocks. This approach allows the system to map complex features more effectively than standard encoding techniques. For AR applications, this could mean faster processing of visual data and more realistic holographic overlays.
Quantum neural networks are still in early stages, but WiMi's focus on improving data encoding addresses a major bottleneck. Traditional encoding often loses information when translating real-world data into quantum states. By repeating the encoding process across several qubit blocks, RAE aims to preserve more detail and improve the network's ability to recognize patterns.
WiMi has been investing heavily in next-generation AR hardware and software. The company sees quantum-enhanced processing as a way to overcome the limits of classical computing for real-time holographic rendering. While the technology remains experimental, this latest development signals WiMi's commitment to staying ahead in the AR and quantum computing race.
The announcement comes as interest in quantum machine learning grows across the tech industry. WiMi's RAE could eventually help AR devices handle complex visual tasks with lower latency and higher accuracy.
